Bethel Leadership Group (BLG) Equipping and Encouraging Leaders

Welcome to Bethel College

In 2004 Bethel Temple church felt that it was important and necessary to establish a Christian college that would train pastors locally and nationally, and equip missionaries to aggressively evangelize the world. The church had previously chartered a training center, Bethel Bible Institute, to assist students with Assemblies of God ministry credentialing. But Bethel saw the need for a four-year college that would offer more advanced and qualitative Biblical and pastoral training leading to the award of associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in Biblical studies, Worship, Missions and Ministerial Leadership.

Bethel College is an intercultural institution. This diversity is reflected in its student body and faculty. In 2005, Bethel College was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a recognized IRS non-profit corporation. In February 2009, America's premier Biblical accreditation agency, the Association of Biblical Higher Education, granted Bethel College a new level of accreditation, Candidacy Status.

From inception as an institution, to its current status as a private four-year college, Bethel College’s goal has been the development of students at a comprehensive academic learning institution that is a part of a dynamic and thriving church ministry environment. From its foundation, our school’s mission has been to prepare students spiritually, academically, and practically for professional and lay ministry endeavors. Today, under the leadership of Rev. Glenn Reynolds, interim President, and with our newly achieved accreditation status, Bethel College equips an ever growing number of students with the tools they need to influence lives, communities and nations for the glory of the Lord.
